This allows you to determine what spells are being cast, and the effect of those spells. Make a MAG success roll to determine what the effect of a cast spell is. If you are a Mage and are of sufficient level, and a Mage casts a spell outside of a matrix or using a Gesture and Chant matrix, you can choose to learn the spell, as long as you can clearly see and hear the caster. If you cannot clearly see or hear, make another success roll in order to learn the spell.

You are an expert at watching for the subtleties of magic. You can now learn a spell if it has one visible component (Gesture, or chant) automagically if you choose. +1 on rolls to attune.

You are a master of arcana. Spells that are cast in front of you, regardless of their Matrix structure, you can automatically learn if you are of sufficient level and choose to. Gain +1 maximum spell known per level if a Mage.
Learning those spells of higher level than you are capable of casting requires a success roll, with a negative modifier of the difference in your level to the spell being cast.
Effect
You can identify magical effects, understand arcane writings, and have theoretical knowledge of spellcasting and magical creatures.
