Free actions do not consume your primary action, move action, or reaction.
You can perform as many free actions in a round as the GM considers reasonable.
Common Free Actions
| Free Action | Notes |
| Shout or talk | Short phrases are fine; long speeches are not guaranteed. |
| Drop a weapon | Let go of an item. |
| Drop prone | Fall prone immediately. |
| Drop shield | Let go of or discard a shield. |
| Draw a weapon in each hand | Requires an ability such as Quick and the Dead rank 2. |
| Deflect with weapon | Requires Weapon Mastery (Precision) rank 3 or another rule that grants this. |
Free actions can still have consequences. Dropping prone may help extinguish fire or avoid an attack, but it leaves you prone. Speaking may reveal your position. Dropping an item may put it in reach of someone else.
