Threat represents the ability to make reaction attacks against enemies who let their guard down.
Threatening
A character threatens the squares adjacent to them. When an enemy in a threatened square:
- Moves out of the square
- Uses a ranged weapon
- Casts a spell
- Stands up from prone (in some cases)
Not Threatening
Certain conditions cause you to not threaten:
- Being fatigued (-1H, does not threaten)
- Being tired or more exhausted
- Using certain actions that leave you vulnerable
Provoking Threat
Actions that provoke threat include:
- Moving out of a threatened square
- Ranged attacks in melee
- Casting spells in melee
- Standing up from prone (using primary + minor action)
Avoiding Provocation
Some abilities allow you to avoid provoking threat, and certain actions (like standing up using all actions) do not provoke.
