You can, using a massive amount of life energy bless, or curse an area. This can have different effects depending on your magic and the terrain, but could be babies are born malformed, crops blight, the area turns to desert etc. You must make a LIF, WIL and MAG check. Any failure and your entire lifeforce pours into the curse, killing you permanently but making it even more powerful.
